Welcome to the Art of Blacksmithing!
We’re working to make Blacksmithing.org better than ever; some links/images may not work as expected.
Please bear with us during the transition process.
Florida Artist Blacksmith Association (FABA) is a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to teaching and preserving the art and craft of the blacksmith. First formed in 1984, FABA is an affiliate of the Artist-Blacksmith’s Association of North America (ABANA).
FABA provides its members with learning opportunities throughout the state and throughout the year. FABA divides the state into four regions, each of which holds one meeting per month. Blacksmiths demonstrate forging techniques at these meetings, and there are often hands-on learning opportunities for FABA members. While the meetings are held regionally, all interested parties are welcome at all FABA meetings, regardless of which region you live in.
In addition to monthly meetings, FABA also hosts an annual conference in October during which you’ll have the opportunity to watch nationally and internationally renowned blacksmiths demonstrate their specialties, as well as sign up for numerous beginning blacksmithing classes during the 3 day event. You can also purchase a wide variety of hand forged art and tools at the fundraising auction on Saturday night.
Blacksmithing is a satisfying craft, and a rewarding art. Using traditional processes with a 2,000 year history, you can forge almost anything you can imagine, from the purely functional to the purely artistic. Come join us in the fun!
